Improvements to Play Equipment in Six Wellingborough Parks

Published Monday, 15 February 2021

The Borough Council of Wellingborough is excited to announce that a further six of the town’s parks will shortly benefit from improvements to the play equipment.

The parks undergoing this renovation are: Kilborn Road, Bassett’s Park, Castlefields, Doddington Grange, Stanwell Open Space and Queensway.

Some of these will have full refurbishments and others will have additional equipment installed. The street furniture will also be assessed and replaced or repaired where required, in each of these parks.

Leader of the Council, Councillor Martin Griffiths, said: “Wellingborough is fortunate to have a large number of parks and recreation areas and we continue to invest and improve them. I am delighted that we have been able to give the council’s support to this exciting project that will help to improve the health and wellbeing of the younger members of our community, and provide them and, in time, their children with enjoyable play facilities and equipment for many years to come.”

Works will begin in February and completion is expected at the start of April. During this period some play areas within these parks will be closed off for works to be undertaken.
