Whether you’re looking to sit back and relax at the Beach event, or splash around at the Embankment – there is something for everyone in Wellingborough this summer.
You don’t have to travel two hours to enjoy the fun of the beach, Wellingborough’s free beach event at Market Square will be open daily from 10am – 4pm (except Sundays) until Saturday 17 August, subject to favourable weather.
Children can also enjoy the water fountains at the Splash Park at the Embankment, which is open daily from 12pm – 6pm until Tuesday 3 September. The Splash Park is free to enjoy and offers picnic benches, free car parking and a wide-range of water features for children of all ages.
Leader of the Borough Council of Wellingborough, Cllr Martin Griffiths, said: “There is so much happening in the town centre this summer, and also a number of fetes and activities in the 19 wonderful villages that make up our borough.
“In and around the town you may see young people taking part in the NCS (National Citizen Service), working together in teams during their summer holidays on a variety of community based projects that will benefit many of our residents. I hope that everyone enjoys the wide-range of activities on offer this summer.”
Wellingborough Council in partnership with Northamptonshire Sport have an exciting array of activities to keep children active during the summer holidays. Activities include Archery on 5 & 6 August and Football with Northampton Town FC on 14 & 15 August at the Old Grammarian Sports Ground. As well as Table Tennis on 21 and 22 August and Basketball with Northamptonshire Titans from 19 – 23 August at Weavers Leisure Centre.
