Hayley Greaves (29) has started a new career at the Nene Valley Crematorium as an apprentice after being inspired by her own experiences to provide comfort to the bereaved.
A former Early Years Teaching Assistant, the bereavement sector had always been an interest of Hayley’s and she joined the team at Nene Valley Crematorium in April this year.
“I am currently studying for a qualification to become a Customer Service Practitioner, and I hope to expand my skills set once I complete my apprenticeship next spring and continue my career at Nene Valley Crematorium.” Hayley said.
“The team have been really supportive by answering any questions and giving time out to study. I feel like I have been welcomed into a little family who have been easing me in at my own pace. I would like to further my training and help out bereaved families anyway I can.” Hayley added.
Tracy Lawrence, Crematorium Manager, said: “I am passionate about providing a wide-range of flexible options to bereaved people at a difficult time, and it is rewarding to see those I manage blossom through gaining confidence from education and mentoring received.
“The team and I will continue to support Hayley throughout her apprenticeship and in whatever endeavours she wishes to explore in future.”
Nene Valley Crematorium is operated by Wellingborough Bereavement Services Limited, on behalf of the council.
