MOLD Stephen Graham, The Conservative Party Candidate, received a total of 58175 votes.

WATTS Sam, UK Independence Party (UKIP), received a total of 27708 votes.

The role of the Police and Crime Commissioner 

Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) are new elected roles that will replace local police authorities. PCCs will not run the police, but will be responsible for holding the Chief Constable to account for the public. They will be able to:

  • Produce a police and crime plan setting out local policing priorities.
  • Set the local policing budget and decide how money will be spent.
  • Appoint chief constables and remove them where needed.
