Better Business For All
‘Better Business for All’ (BBfA) is a government initiative within which local authorities work to engage with local businesses in their areas to deliver the support they need to grow. Providing businesses with the right regulatory support, will give them more confidence to grow their business.
While BBfA is aimed at all businesses, its focus is on smaller businesses, as these generally need the most help to comply with the law.
Over the last couple of years the council has been looking to introduce ways to reduce the regulatory burden on businesses under BBfA. Environmental Health Practitioners want to support businesses and we are reviewing our approaches to make sure we are business friendly.
We are reviewing our inspection letters and are currently trialling these with food businesses. We also undertake advisory visits to new and growing businesses which undertake high risk activities, and are developing case studies on our interaction with successful businesses.
Whether you run a business, are an employee or a member of the public, we are committed to providing you with an efficient, courteous and helpful service. Please talk to us if the service you’ve received hasn’t met your expectations, has exceeded your expectations or you would like to get involved in our better business work.
This work is supported by a regulators code of compliance which was launched in March 2014 by the Government. The main expectation is that regulators should carry out their activities in a way that supports those they regulate to comply and grow. If you would like more information on the code go to:
