From 21st November 2018 if you are working age you will not be able to make a new claim for:
- Housing Benefit
- Tax Credits
- Income Support
- Income based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- Income based Employment Support Allowance
The only time a working age person should still claim Housing Benefit is when:
You are living in Specified Accommodation or Temporary Accommodation (still claim Universal Credit but you get Housing Benefit instead of Universal Credit housing cost)
or
You or your partner is currently entitled or has been within the last month entitled to a severe disability premium within one of the following benefits which includes this premium: Income Support, Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA), Employed and Support Allowance (ESA), Housing Benefit and Pension Credit.
