hi have bought a tray of a well known bitter but there are no best before dates on bottles or tray and it doesnt taste the same as i know it should do what would you suggest
It is not illegal to sell any food or drink (including beer) past it's 'Best Before' date, although I cannot advise on how long after a 'Best Before' date you should or should not sell alcohol.
However, it is not good practice to sell any food products past their best before date. Foods marked with 'Best Before' or 'Best Before End' dates may be sold after their marked dates, provided that they remain of good quality and fit for human consumption. In these circumstances it is advisable to ensure that customers know that the date has expired before they make the decision to buy.
If it is a labelling issue you will need to contact Trading Standards.
