Mayor of Wellingborough 2014-15

Cllr Jim Bass has been announced as the new Mayor of Wellingborough. Cllr Bass, who has been a borough councillor since 2007, will use his year as mayor to develop relationships with local industry and educational facilities. His wife Edwina will be his mayoress.

Changes to bailiff laws

The government has introduced new legislation that will see people being hit with increased fees if bailiffs are needed to recover overdue debts. The council is urging anyone struggling to pay council tax or business rates to get in touch early to keep costs to a minimum.

The draft Earls Barton neighbourhood plan is now being consulted on by Earls Barton parish council. You have until Wednesday 30 April to submit your views. A neighbourhood plan is a new way of helping local communities influence the planning of the area they live and work in.
