Appeal for participants in charity walk
Published Wednesday 4th May 11
The Mayor of Wellingborough. Cllr Lora Lawman, is appealing for people to join her on a charity walk to raise money for the Royal British Legion in its 90th anniversary year.
The 3 mile (5km) walk will take place at 6.15pm on Friday 13 May and is part of the international Waendel Weekend.
The Mayor said: "It is the Royal British Legion's 90th anniversary this year and I thought it would be an excellent idea if I was joined by another 89 people on the walk to help collect donations for this worthwhile charity. We are doing the 'ladybird' walk, which is three miles long, and it would be brilliant to have people join me for either the whole distance or a shorter period. I would love to achieve a total of 90 people walking to mark the charity's anniversary and collect lots of money."
The walk starts at The Castle at 6.15pm on 13 May. People interested in joining the Mayor on her charity walk should contact Fiona Marshall on 01933 231 519 or email fmarshall@wellingborough.gov.uk
