Criminal damage in Swanspool Gardens
Published Tuesday 27th July 10
Vandals smashed the backrest and panels of a bench in Swanspool Gardens, Wellingborough, and then threw the broken pieces across the bowling green.
The damage occurred sometime between 9pm on Friday 23 July and 8am on Saturday 24 July.
John Casserly, Head of Environmental Services at Wellingborough Council said:
"Mindless vandalism like this spoils the park for everyone. Residents tell us how much they enjoy the open spaces in Wellingborough, but when a few individuals damage our environment it is unfair and unpleasant for everyone else."
John added: "The location of the bench can be seen from most houses along Swanspool Parade and we would urge anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious during Friday night to contact the council on 01933 229 777. We are taking this matter very seriously."
