Help with carnival parade preparations
Published Monday 17th May 10
Carnival arts company Festive Road would like to invite participants to the Wellingborough Carnival Mas Camp.
It's open to anyone who would like to take part in the Wellingborough Carnival parade on Saturday 3 July, from teachers and schools to individuals and groups. If you would like any help with making your costumes and masks, or access to affordable materials to make your fabulous creations, or just need some space to build your entry, then this is the place for you!
There will be an opening and information event on Tuesday 8 June, 3.30pm to 5.30pm so why not come along and find out what a Mas Camp is and how we can help you with your carnival celebration.
After that there will be a training day on Sunday 13 June, 10am to 4pm which is open to everyone to provide training opportunities to create amazing structures and wild costumes. Festive Road will be offering one day of carnival arts skills training. Artists, teachers and volunteers are invited to work alongside Festive Road artists during the workshops in June as part of a training programme.
There will then be a series of Wellingborough Carnival Mas Camp days providing help, advice and workshops towards making your ideas realised as headdresses, masks, costumes and large processional structures on Sundays 20 & 27 June, 10am to 4pm as well as weekdays Tuesday 29 June, Wednesday 30 June & Thursday 1 July, 9.30am to 4pm.
All this will take place at:
6 Bradfield Road
Finedon Road Industrial Estate
