Millennium Rose Garden, Swanspool Gardens
Published Monday 30th November 09
After two years of fundraising, the rose garden in Swanspool Gardens will be replanted on Friday, 4 December from 10am.
The replanting is supported by the Borough Council of Wellingborough, who also contributed to the cost. Grounds maintenance workers from the council will also be on hand to help plant. Cummins Diesel, a local business based on the Park Farm Industrial Estate, has provided a team to help out too, as part of their community enterprise scheme.
Alex Benoy, Open Spaces Development Officer for the Borough Council of Wellingborough said: "This is a big day for the Friends group. They have worked hard to raise the funds through some very successful cafes in Swanspool Gardens and we are delighted to support the group, many of whom are local residents who see the Gardens as an extension of their own gardens."
The Friends of Swanspool Gardens hold a monthly working party every third Friday morning at 10am, and also meet a couple of times a year in the evening to discuss developments and future plans for the gardens. Anyone wishing to join this group should contact Alex Benoy at the council on 01933 231 736.
