Fly-tpper fined for dumping rubble
John Patrick O'Day, of Burns Road, Wellingborough, had elected for trial, but changed his plea to guilty on the charge of disposing of controlled waste without a licence when he appeared at Northampton Crown Court today (Friday 28th Aug).
Mr O'Day was seen on Dec 20th 2008 and reported by a witness, dumping building rubble, kitchen fittings and scrap metal in Lea Way.
A spokesman for Wellingborough Council's legal team, which brought the prosecution, said: "Wellingborough Council is working hard to protect the Borough's environment, and has a policy of always prosecuting fly tippers."
