Volunteer groups and community organisations in Wellingborough are invited to apply for community grants to support projects and initiatives being delivered in 2020-21.
The Borough Council of Wellingborough is allocating funding to provide grants for projects that will work alongside the council to support the local community, focussed on the themes of housing support, community, and improving health and wellbeing
The Council is looking to support projects under these themes that show an innovative and cohesive voluntary sector response to meeting community needs and assist in meeting the Council’s objectives as set out in the annual corporate plan. Projects which are designed and delivered in partnership, which seek to reduce duplication and build on existing voluntary sector capacity.
Applications are now open and will close on 15 June. Voluntary sector groups are invited to apply on the Council’s website by completing and returning an application form.
Leader of the Borough Council of Wellingborough, Cllr Martin Griffiths, said: “I encourage and invite applications from community groups and volunteer organisations to apply for financial help to support their community projects.
"We have allocated funds to provide local organisations with grants to help towards the delivery of their initiatives which will provide essential services for residents across the borough. There is a set criteria to ensure the grants support projects which help those most in need and identify opportunities for partner agencies to work cohesively for our communities.”
