At its Council meeting on 25 February the Borough Council of Wellingborough discussed the potential commitment of £1million towards the design and environmental assessment for the Isham Bypass.
The funding will support the development of the design of strategic plans required for the Isham Bypass. A report will now be taken to the Council’s Resources Committee to be reviewed and approved by councillors.
Leader of the Borough Council of Wellingborough, Cllr Martin Griffiths, said: “The council will commit £1 million from capital funds from the development of Glenvale Park, to the North of Wellingborough, towards the creation of the essential strategic design plans for the Isham Bypass.”
“This funding will enable this long awaited project to move further along in its process. While it will not single-handedly deliver the new road, it is certainly a step in the right direction.”
