Finance and recruitment will be among the focus for councillors steering forward proposals for a new Northamptonshire unitary authority when they meet on Thursday (16 January).
Members of the North Northamptonshire Joint Committee will be considering a range of reports and updates on the Future Northants programme at their first meeting of 2020 in the Council Chamber at Corby Borough Council from 6.30pm.
Items on the agenda include a presentation and financial update on the Programme to create two new unitary councils in Northamptonshire by 1 April 2021, along with proposed arrangements for recruiting the senior managers that will head the new authorities.
There will also be updates from the Joint Committee’s working groups that have been progressing key pieces of work on governance and other arrangements needed to set up a Shadow Authority for North Northamptonshire, which would deliver the new unitary council.
The meeting on Thursday starts at 6.30pm and is open to the public. The deadline for members of the public wishing to register to speak on an agenda item is 5pm on Monday 13 January. To register, please email email@example.com. Agendas and papers for this meeting are available here.
