Highways England - Notification of works to A45 Great Doddington to M1 Jct 15

Published Wednesday, 04 December 2019

Highways England will be carrying out essential carriageway investigation works on the A45, in both directions, between Great Doddington and the M1 Junction 15.

The purpose of the works is to gain vital technical information which will help Highways England to produce an accurate and efficient plan for resurfacing the road. By gathering this information, they can pull together a plan which helps them eliminate cracks, potholes and the deterioration of the road surface. By doing this work now, they can ensure that motorist will benefit from improved road safety and journey reliability in the future.

When will the work take place?

Work is due to start on Monday 3 February 2020 and is scheduled for completion by Friday 21 February. To minimise inconvenience and disruption to road users, they will work overnight from Monday to Friday between 7:00pm and 5.30am.

To maintain a safe environment for the workforce and road users, they will need to install lane closures while they work. They will make sure that at least one lane remains open in each direction at all times and all carriageways will be fully open throughout the daytime. They will also be closing the majority of A45 entry / exit slip roads, in phases.

When entry / exit slip roads are closed, they will put in place fully signed diversion routes.

Please note that all planned works may be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
