Borough Council of Wellingborough

Plans for Town Centre regeneration

Published Monday, 21 October 2019

The Borough Council of Wellingborough is in the process of outlining a vision for the future of the town centre, which will highlight the aspirations for Wellingborough Town.

Proposals for the town centre regeneration are being drafted and the initial drafts will be presented to stakeholders at a meeting on 24 October.

Leader of the Borough Council of Wellingborough, Cllr Martin Griffiths, said: "Town Centres across the country are changing and there is no one size fits all solution to ensure they can keep up with these changes.

"We will develop a vision for Wellingborough town centre which will ensure it continues to evolve while show-casing our town’s history and assets, bringing the town together with pride. The first stage of this is to inform stakeholders of the vision, following this a report will be presented to Development Committee for consideration and then the vision will be consulted on with the wider community."

The plans for the wider development of the town centre will then be displayed at a public meeting and the date will be publicised at: www.wellingborough.gov.uk.
