Borough Council of Wellingborough

Which services should Wellingborough Town Council deliver?

Published Thursday, 17 October 2019

Residents are being asked to take part in a survey and share their views on which services Wellingborough Town Council, which will be established from 1 April 2020, should deliver.

The Borough Council of Wellingborough (BCW) will work alongside the town council until 1 April 2021 when it transactions to the new unitary authority, North Northamptonshire. The town council will have a limited number of services and events in the first year. BCW is consulting to ask councillors, officers and residents what they think the new town council should deliver.

The survey is available at: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/ZQPCNK2 and will be open for feedback until Friday 25 October. Responses to this survey are completely anonymous. You will be asked to define the services that you expect the town council to deliver, and then to rank those services in terms of importance to you.

Please bear in mind that the town council will not be able to deliver some statutory services currently undertaken by Borough Council of Wellingborough, including housing, planning services (although it will be a consultee on some planning applications), elections, revenue and benefits, environmental health and environmental protection services.
