Wellingborough residents have been able to enjoy the free pop up beach in the town’s market square this summer with this year’s event one of the biggest and best yet.
Wellingborough Council worked with its partners Wellingborough Norse to deliver the event along with Wellingborough Library, Northamptonshire Sport and local businesses providing activities and fun, contributing to its success.
Throughout the event, there were several fun activities at Market Square that were thoroughly enjoyed by visiting families. Hosted activities included a giant bubble show, a surf simulator, a carousel, a free art and crafts station and a face painting stand. There was also a programme of games hosted by Northamptonshire Sport and rhyme time sessions provided by the staff at Wellingborough Library.
Cllr Martin Griffiths, Leader of the Council, said “We are delighted that so many residents joined in with this years’ beach event which helped to make it one of the biggest and best yet. We are lucky to work with a number of fantastic partners and stakeholders who provided entertainment, and supported us in delivering our pop up beach. We now look forward to working with partners to deliver the Christmas light switch-on later on this year.”
