Residents of Finedon invited to vote in borough council election

The Borough Council of Wellingborough has a vacancy for a borough councillor to represent Finedon Ward, following the resignation of Mrs Barbara Bailey, who is relocating to be nearer her family.

The local by-election will take place on Thursday 12 September.

The deadline for registering to vote for the by-election is Tuesday 27 August 2019. The quickest and easiest way to register is online by visiting www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. Alternatively if you are not able to register online then please contact the elections team on elections@wellingborough.gov.uk or by calling 01933 231513.

Poll cards for this election will be sent by Thursday 22 August 2019. If you register to vote after the poll cards have been sent for printing then you will receive your poll card after Tuesday 27 August 2019.

If you are not able to visit the polling station on Thursday 12 September 2019 then you can request an absent vote.

To apply for a postal vote, please download a copy of the postal application form here. New applications to vote by post (or changes to existing applications) must be submitted by 5pm on Wednesday 28 August 2019. 

Proxy vote applications, which is where you appoint someone to vote on your behalf, must be submitted by 5pm on Wednesday 4 September 2019. However, if your proxy wishes to vote by post then the application appointing them as your proxy and their application to vote by post as your proxy must be in place by the postal vote deadline above.
