Wellingborough Council has received tens of thousands of pounds worth of government funding following a successful bid to provide further support services to tackle homelessness.
The Borough Council of Wellingborough submitted a bid to central government as part of its Rapid Rehousing Pathway and has received £85,000 to continue to provide support and guidance for families facing a housing crisis or experiencing homelessness.
The funding will enable the council to appoint two tenancy sustainment officers who will develop and implement initiatives to help people into accommodation, sustain tenancies and prevent homelessness for families and individuals across Wellingborough.
Leader of the Borough Council of Wellingborough, Cllr Martin Griffiths, said: “We are all too aware of the national rise in families and individuals facing a housing crisis, and we are committed to doing all we can to provide support for people in need.
“This funding will enable us to deliver further support services for our residents. We have a dedicated housing team who are able to provide guidance and advice for anyone who may be facing homelessness.”
