The pop up beach event, which ran every day between 10am to 4pm from 28 July, has come to a close.

Wellingborough council would like to thank our partners Wellingborough Norse for their hard work in ensuring the event ran so smoothly and also Wellingborough Library, Northamptonshire Sport and our market traders for their time and cooperation, all of which contributed to a successful event.

Throughout the event, there were several fun activities at the Market and Orient Way that were thoroughly enjoyed by visiting families. Hosted activities included a giant bubble show, a surf simulator, a carrousel, a free art and crafts station and a face painting stand. There was also a programme of games hosted by Northamptonshire Sport and rhyme time sessions provided by the staff at Wellingborough Library.

Cllr Martin Griffiths, Leader of the Council, said “The council are very pleased with the success of this year’s pop up beach event and hope that the residents of the borough enjoyed the beach and the other activities organised to compliment the event. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all stakeholders involved for their co-operation and hard work during this event.”
