The internationally renowned Waendel Walk Weekend returns to Wellingborough from Friday 11 May.

Now in its 39th year, this weekend of walking, swimming and entertainment has a long history of fundraising, as well as welcoming participants from Australia, USA, Taiwan and all over Europe.

As a non- competitive event open to everyone, the walks really are open to all ages and offer an opportunity to get out and explore the fantastic scenery and culture in Northamptonshire.

The weekend kicks off at 6pm on the Friday with an opening ceremony and parade at the Castle Theatre, plus 5km and 10km friendship walks.

The entry fee for the Friday walks is £1, and includes an exclusive Simba the Lion medal for all walkers aged 16 and under.

On Saturday and Sunday walkers can choose a 5km, 10km, 15km, 25km or 42km (road or track and field), and all routes start and finish at the Castle Theatre.
