Electoral roll registration for the EU Referendum

Published Friday, 20 May 2016

We are aware of information on social media suggesting that you need to re-register on the electoral roll for June’s EU Referendum - this is not the case. Any British, Irish or Commonwealth citizen who had already registered to vote (or recently registered) before the 18 April 2016 deadline for the Police and Crime Commissioner election (that took place on 5 May) will also be registered to vote at the EU Referendum and will be able to cast their vote.

Anyone who is not yet registered to vote, or who moves home between now and the EU Referendum registration deadline of 7 June 2016, will need to re-register at their new property. You can register online by visiting www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.

More information can be found on the Electoral Commission’s website regarding registering to vote at the EU Referendum.

If you would like to check if you are already registered, please email elections@wellingborough.gov.uk. Alternatively, you can call the Electoral Services team directly on 01933 231513.
