“The council has been advised that The Castle Wellingborough Limited has submitted a Notice of Intention to Appoint an Administrator to the High Court.
Councillors have made it very clear that they want The Castle to continue as an arts venue within the borough, so we aim to work with any Administrator appointed to put together an effective exit management plan. The council will – as already planned – have a meeting with The Castle Wellingborough (and the Administrator, if appointed) in the next week to discuss what a managed exit and transition would look like.
Discussions are also ongoing with community groups, local charities and relevant businesses who have expressed an interest in being involved with the The Castle in the longer term. Councillor Paul Bell, Leader of the Council, said “I am very impressed by the level of interest in The Castle. This is something we want to encourage; ideas from local people will be reported back to councillors when they make a decision about next steps for this important facility in June”.
Whilst meetings have already been arranged with seven different groups/organisations, anyone else who feels they could add something to the future of The Castle can make contact via firstname.lastname@example.org.”
