We are aware of information on social media suggesting that you need to re-register on the electoral roll for June’s EU Referendum - this is not the case. Any British, Irish or Commonwealth citizen who had already registered to vote (or recently registered) before the 18 April 2016 deadline for the Police and Crime Commissioner election (that took place on 5 May) will also be registered to vote at the EU Referendum and will be able to cast their vote.
Households across Wellingborough have been receiving letters this week as part of a yearly process to keep the electoral roll up to date.
Wellingborough Council is advising residents to look out for the yellow electoral registration forms that will be dropping through letterboxes from the beginning of November. Filling in and returning the form will ensure people can have their say in next year’s elections.
