Sywell is located five miles west of Wellingborough.

The old village is now a Conservation Area comprising about 30 houses, the Horseshoe Cottages and the Old School.

The parish church of St Peter and St Paul occupies a central position with the village green spread out before it.

Sywell has a small airfield used during the Second World War for the repair of Avro Lancaster bombers. Its current use includes private flying, and lessons can be booked.

The area around the old reservoir has been designated a Country Park where numerous countryside activities and events are held throughout the year.

The Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin is 14th century with later additions. It is described as having "good gargoyles and corbels" and its unusual decorated tower is square with an octagonal top crowned by a spire.
