Hardwick
This small and peaceful village lies three miles north west of Wellingborough.
The little Church of St Leonard's is mainly 13th century with an embattled tower, noteworthy monuments and an unusual font.
The Manor, now a farmhouse, is a tall and ancient building with bay windows of pre-Tudor date. It once belonged to the Order of the Knights Templar and was restored and enlarged in 1755.Irchester
This is one of the largest parishes in the Borough, three miles to the south east of Wellingborough. The parish consists of two electoral wards - the main village of Irchester and Little Irchester.
Between the 2 lies Irchester Country Park, on the site if former ironstone workings. Here you will find attractive walks and picnic areas as well as the home of the Irchester Narrow Gauge Steam Railway Trust.
Chester House and Farm buildings, to the north-west of the village, date from the late 16th Century and were built on the site of a small, deserted medieval village called Chester Parva. Remains of Roman earthworks are to be found and when the A45 was re-aligned many Roman relics were discovered, including a large jar containing thousands of Roman coins. These are now housed at the Guildhall Museum, Northampton.
Isham
Isham ("Home of the Ise") is an attractive village five miles to the north of Wellingborough, standing on undulating high ground, flanked by the River Ise, a tributary to the Nene.
The village retains a fine blend of buildings built with Northamptonshire stone, including All Saints' House on Middle Street and 1 Church Street. All Saints House is a late 17th century ironstone building with a steep Collyweston slate roof and 1 Church Street an interesting stone house, incorporating pieces known to have originated from Pytchley House which was demolished in 1828/29.
