Voting
Who can vote?
You can only vote in elections if your name is on the Register of Electors.
You can register to vote if you are:
- Over 18, or reach the age of 18 during the period in which the register is in operation (from 1 December each year to 30 November in the following year);
- A British or Commonwealth citizen, a citizen of the Irish Republic or a citizen of the European Union;
- Living at an address within the Borough of Wellingborough for at least 6 months of the year.
If you are 16 or 17, you can only register if you will be 18 within the lifetime of the electoral register. Registers last from 1 December to 30 November. You cannot vote until you are 18.
