Improvement and Development Plan
Our 5-Point Plan for a Five Star Future
- Wellingborough
Borough Council will continue the improvement journey it has been on
for the past year with a clear 'Improvement and Development Plan' in
place to steer the actions required to make this Council fit for
purpose in meeting the rapidly changing and increasing needs of the
people of this Borough.
We HAVE in place a Challenge Board of external peers who meet monthly to test the effectiveness of our improvement journey and we will be sharing this work with the Wellingborough Partnership to ensure a real step change in achievement for the Borough of Wellingborough. - We will
further strengthen our leadership of the work of the Wellingborough
Partnership to ensure that the Council is using its knowledge and
overview of needs in the Borough to influence the work of key strategic
partners.
We HAVE developed a shared information base with our partners to drive actions to realise the ambition of this Council to make Wellingborough a place to be proud of.
- We
will put in place stronger and new means of meeting with and
communicating with local groups to transform the Council from a passive
and largely undemanding partner, to an organisation that actively uses
engagement to understand and to act upon the needs of the diverse
communities of the Borough.
We HAVE an extensive record of consultation on proposals for growth in this area to build on. - We will lead a way forward to an improved economy.
We HAVE initiated arrangements for a Wellingborough debate on the local impact of the economic downturn in order to co-ordinate plans for action with other partners.
- We will deliver consistently high quality services which provide good value for money.
We HAVE instigated a full review of all Council services to influence changes in delivery arrangements to improve performance and reduce costs.
