Business Rates

We are working with Government regarding the latest guidance for Business Rates relating to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. Please follow this link for the latest advice and information. We are writing to all eligible businesses about business rates changes and small business grant funding, you do not need to contact the council.

Discretionary Grant Scheme

Small businesses in Wellingborough are able to apply for a discretionary grant from the Borough Council of Wellingborough from 1 June - 14 June to provide them with support during the current pandemic.

The Borough Council of Wellingborough has received £1m from the Government to support small businesses in the borough following the Government’s recent guidance to support those organisations which not eligible for the Small Business Grant and Retail, Hospitality and Leisure scheme.

Businesses will need to complete an application form which can be downloaded here. Applications will be reviewed by the Council and the funding will be distributed accordingly from week commencing 15 June.

Government guidance for food businesses

The Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS) is now available through participating lenders. Small businesses are advsied to read the latest guidance from British Business Bank.
