Climate Change

The Toolkit contains all of the necessary elements to put on an hour long event focussing on the potential impacts of climate change in the Borough and comes with the following:

Presentations

The presentations contained on the CD-ROM that comes with the Toolkit contain all of the essential information needed to explain the basic concepts surrounding climate change and its potential effects locally. The speaker notes contained in the Toolkit give an outline script.

 What is this thing "climate change"? - This presentation looks at the evidence and the mechanisms behind climate change, and its global implications.

 Climate Change: What's it got to do with me? - This presentation brings the effects of climate change down to a local level.

Wellingborough 2080 - This is a slideshow looking at what life in the Borough may be like in the year 2080 under the influence of climate change. This presentation runs automatically and is meant to be played before and after the presentations above, to act as a talking point.

Thirty copies of the leaflet "Climate Change in Wellingborough - What does it mean for you? " are also included in the folder. This is a summary of the potential effects of climate change as we may see them in the Borough. A copy in .pdf format is included on the CD-ROM.

Support

The toolkit is intended to be used to stage an event looking at the issues surrounding climate change to a group of up to 30 people. It contains guidance on how to run an event, including a suggested running order.

 We hope that you will feel confident enough to run the event yourself and to back you up we will be holding seminars on how to run an event. We will also be on the end of a telephone for any queries you may wish to talk about.

To give the presentations provided on the CD-ROM you will require a PC or laptop running PowerPoint and a data projector and screen. The Climate Change in Wellingborough Project will be able to lend you them if they are available.
