Home Repair Assistance Grants
This type of grant is available for the following types of work:
carrying out essential minor repair work (excluding window replacement);
installing security measures;
improving safety.
Eligibility
Home Repair Assistance Grants are paid as follows:
100% for applicants receiving one or more of the following means tested benefits:
Council Tax Benefit
Housing Benefit
Income Based Job Seekers Allowance
Income Support
Guaranteed Pension Credit
Working or Child Tax Credit based on income less than £15460
100% for all applicants aged 60 or over applying for safety or security works who have less than £6,000 capital.
50% for all applicants aged 60 or over applying for safety or security works who have more than £6000 capital.
To qualify for grant assistance an applicant must own the dwelling, be aged 18 or over and live in the property as his/her main residence.
