Code for Sustainable Homes
The Code covers performance in nine key areas (energy and CO2 emissions, water, materials, surface water run-off, waste, pollution, health and well-being, management and ecology) and measures the sustainability of a home against key design categories to rate the 'whole home' as a complete package.
Points are awarded against performance in each of these areas. These are totalled up and translated into credits, which are then used to give the property a star rating of between 1 and 6 stars.
