Introduction

There are a variety of ways to find a new home in the borough:

  2. Affordable Rent (80% of local private market rents)

  4. Homebuy (formerly known as Shared Ownership)
  5. Outright Sale

Social Rent

Since December 2007 The Borough Council of Wellingborough (BCW) transfered its housing stock to social landlords. Housing Strategy works with regisitered social landlords and developers to increase the supply of rented social housing in the borough. To be considered for social rented housing you need to join the waiting list by first registering your name with the council.

Affordable Rent

The new intermediate (affordable rent) tenure allows housing associations to charge up to 80% of local market rents.

Private Rent

There are a number of letting agents offering accommodation to rent in the private sector and properties are advertised in the local free papers and Wednesdays Evening Telegraph.
