Health & Safety
Regulation and Inspection
The Health Protection Team performs a wide range of duties designed to protect the health, safety and well-being of people at work and others who visit places of work within the Borough of Wellingborough. The primary legislation applied to this area is the Health and Safety at Work Etc. Act 1974. We are responsible for enforcing Health and Safety in certain premises while the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is responsible for others.
If you think health and safety has to be complicated - it doesn't. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) website provides simple guidance on compliance with the law and how to manage health and safety in your business.
For many businesses, all that's required is a basic series of tasks. The following link will take you through the steps and help you make sure you have done what you need to - and no more.

If you are having construction or refurbishment work done, you may need to notify the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and you may have other duties as well - find out more at http://www.hse.gov.uk/construction/cdm/buildingcontrol.htm
