Our Approach to Equalities
Equality Framework for Local Government (EFLG)
The Equality Framework for Local Government (EFLG) is our chosen model to help us deliver on our equality objectives. The EFLG is based on integrating equality and diversity into all aspects of service delivery and workforce planning.
The EFLG is based on five 'themes':
- Knowing your communities
- Leadership, partnership and organisational commitment
- Community engagement and satisfaction
- Responsive services and customer care
- A skilled and committed workforce
There are 3 'levels' of achievement under the EFLG - Developing, Achieving and Excellent.
We have made significant progress against the framework and we have recently assessed the Council as having achieved 'Developing' status. We will strive to continuously improve our performance in respect of accessibility in service delivery and employment.
