Business Rates Relief - Partly Occupied Property Relief
A ratepayer is liable for the full non-domestic rate whether a property is wholly occupied or only partly occupied. Where a property is partly occupied for a short time, the local authority has discretion to award relief in respect of the unoccupied part. If you feel that a reduction for only occupying part of a business property should be applied to your account, please contact the Business Rates Section on 01933 231691. You will be required to apply in writing and also produce a plan of the property showing the occupied and unoccupied parts.
You can view the Discretionary Rate Relief Policy online.
