Glamis Meadow and Wood Local Nature Reserve

The Glamis Meadow Local Nature Reserve is situated between Hardwick Road, Kilborn Road, Torrington Road and The Promenade

The Glamis Grove Volunteers work in partnership with the Borough Council of Wellingborough to help improve and manage the site for wildlife.  They have undertaken a variety of tasks including stream and scrub clearance, creating habitat log piles, hay raking and litter picking.

The Volunteers have recently restored the Red Well which is to found in Glamis Wood.  This famous well was visited by King Charles I and Queen Henrietta in 1628 in order to partake of the healing waters.  The group  raised money to employ a contractor to clear the site, rebuild the Red Well entrance, research and produce an information board and install a seat to enhance this historic spot.
