Decent Homes Grant
This type of grant is available for:
- Providing affordable warmth by improved thermal insulation and efficient heating systems
Eligibility
Decent Homes Grants are paid as follows:
- 100% for applicants receiving one or more of the following means tested benefits:
- Council Tax Benefit
- Housing Benefit
- Income Based Job Seekers Allowance
- Income Support
- Guaranteed Pension Credit
- Working or Child Tax Credit based on income less than £15460
To qualify for grant assistance an applicant must own the dwelling or be a private tenant, be aged 18 or over and live in the property as his/her main residence.
This Grant has a 30 year grant condition period. To avoid a demand for repayment, it is a requirement that for 30 years you or a member of your family occupy the dwelling.
