Private Sector Housing – Home Condition, Improvement and Grants

Private Sector Housing provides advice and assistance to private sector residents and private landlords. We provide financial assistance in the form of grants for owners to carry out repairs improve energy efficiency or to carry out disabled adaptations. We enforce standards in privately rented properties including Houses in Multiple Occupation.

If you have an empty property the council maybe able to help you sell or rent your home. The Empty Property Scheme puts buyers and sellers together. 

Housing Options - Finding a Home

The Housing Options Team aims to ensure that all residents have access to affordable housing that enables a good quality of life.

We aim to prevent people becoming homeless by providing advice and assistance to help people find a solution to their housing problem.

Keyways is a way of looking for housing association properties for rent or low cost home ownership properties for sale.

Affordable Housing and Development

The Housing Service works with landowners, developers and Registered Social Landlords (RSL's) to provide affordable housing for people who live in the borough. Find out about current or recently completed developments and information on rural housing need surveys. We also conduct Code for Sustainable Homes (CSH) assessments.

The Housing Plan provides a picture of the housing needs of the Borough and considers how the resources of the Council and others can be used to deliver these housing needs. It combines the Homelessness, Housing Strategy and Tenancy Strategy into one succinct and accessible document for the Borough of Wellingborough for 2013-18. The Housing Plan is available to download.
