International Waendel Walk - Friday Opening Parade and Walks

The Waendel Walk Opening Parade will take place on Friday 11 May, starting at 18:00pm. The Parade begins at Castle Theatre and will mark the start of the Night Friendship Walks

During the Waendel Walk Opening Parade, members of the Wellingborough Scouts will be bearing the IML Flags of Nations, along with a marching band and other local community associations and uniformed groups. Walkers are encouraged to join the Parade and complete either the 5km or 10km Friendship Walks.

 

International Waendel Walk Weekend 2018

  • Date: 12 May 2018 - 13 May 2018
  • Every day
  • Location: Castle Theatre
  • Time: 07:00 - 12:00
  • Cost: £7 per adult and £5 per child

The Waendel Walk is set to take place from Friday 11 to Sunday 13 May, featuring improved routes with choices from 5, 10, 15, 25 and 42km for walkers of all ages

The event is held at Castle Theatre, Wellingborough and a host of free entertainment will be provided during the weekend.

Our online booking system will be open soon. Alternatively you can also register on the day at the Castle Theatre.

Why not use your opportunity to take part in the Waendel Walk and get out and explore the fantastic scenery and culture in Northamptonshire. As a non- competitive event open to everyone, the walks really are open to all ages.

Every walker who completes their chosen route on Saturday or Sunday will be able to purchase a medal or pin. To qualify for a two day medal you must complete the same distance on both days

Saturday Routes:-

  • 5km Waendel Walk (3 miles). Start Time 10:00am and Latest Start Time is 12 Noon.
  • 10km Waendel Walk (6 miles). Start Time is 09:30am and Latest Start Time is 12 Noon.
  • 15km Waendel Walk (9 miles). Start Time is 09:00am and Latest Start Time is 12 Noon.
  • 25km Waendel Walk (16 miles) all road. Start Time is 08:00am and Latest Start Time is 11am.
  • 25km Waendel Walk (16 miles) field and track. Start Time is 08:00am and Latest Start Time is 11am.
  • 42km Waendel Walk all road route (26 miles). Start Time is 07:00am and Latest Start Time is 09:00am. 
  • 42km Waendel Walk Field and Track (26 miles). Start Time is 07:00 and Latest Start Time is 09:00am.

Sunday Routes:-

5km Waendel Walk (3 miles). Start Time 10:00am and Latest Start Time is 12 Noon.
  • 10km Waendel Walk (6 miles). Start Time is 09:30am and Latest Start Time is 12 Noon.
  • 15km Waendel Walk (9 miles). Start Time is 09:00am and Latest Start Time is 12 Noon.
  • 25km Waendel Walk (16 miles) Track and Field. Start Time is 08:00am and Latest Start Time is 11am.
  • 25km Waendel Walk (16 miles) all road. Start Time is 08:00am and Latest Start Time is 11am.
  • 42km Waendel Walk all road route (26 miles). Start Time is 07:00am and Latest Start Time is 9am.
  • 42km Waendel Walk field and track (26 miles). Start Time is 07:00am and Latest Start Time is 9am.
  • 42km Waendel Walk field and track (26 miles). Start Time is 07:00am and Latest Start Time is 9am.
  • 42km Waendel Walk field and track (26 miles). Start Time is 07:00am and Latest Start Time is 9am.

All routes are different on each day, but start and finish from Castle theatre.
