Household waste - domestic bins: Outline
The Council is responsible for the collection of household refuse and recycling. Each household is provided with three standard wheeled bins:
- Black for household waste
- Green for recycling
- Brown for garden waste
Each bin is collected once every two weeks. An additional bin may be provided where there are six or more people living at an address.
Your bin is your responsibility. Please mark it with your door number. If it goes missing, please take the time to look for it. If it does not turn up, please contact customer service for advice.
Bins should be put out for collection by 7am and returned to your property after they have been emptied. Bins should not be left permanently out on the highway. Please store your bins safely on your property.
