Licence - dog breeding: Outline
Establishments used for the breeding of dogs are controlled by the Breeding of Dogs Act 1973.
No person may keep a breeding establishment without first obtaining a licence from their Local Authority.
A breeding establishment means any premises where more than two bitches are kept for the purposes of breeding for sale.
Northamptonshire Partnership are now responsable for all Environmental Health Licence Applications (excluding Taxi licensing), in addition to the Licensing Act 2003 and the Gambling Act 2005.
The Partnership is made up of:

* The Borough Council of Wellingborough
The group was formed to improve the service that Northamptonshire Licensing Partnership provided, offering a consistent point of contact for all licensing across the five councils.
