Licence - exotic, dangerous or wild animals: Outline
The keeping of certain species of wild animals is controlled by the Dangerous Wild Animals Act 1976.
No person may keep any dangerous wild animal without first obtaining a licence from their local authority.
The animals for which a licence is required before they may be kept are listed in the Dangerous Wild Animals Act 1976 (Modification) Order 1984.
Northamptonshire Partnership are now responsable for all Environmental Health Licence Applications (excluding Taxi licensing), in addition to the Licensing Act 2003 and the Gambling Act 2005.
The Partnership is made up of:

- Daventry District Council
- East Northamptonshire Council
- Kettering Borough Council
- The Borough Council of Wellingborough
The group was formed to improve the service that Northamptonshire Licensing Partnership provided, offering a consistent point of contact for all licensing across the five councils.
